Pupils grabbed a passport and travelled the world during World Day for Cultural Diversity – it was quite literally a ‘round the world’ trip!
On Thursday 21st May, we celebrated World Day for Cultural Diversity, alongside our amazing Passport Day! Pupils were invited to wear clothes that represent their own culture for the day, and we were thrilled to see many of them chose to celebrate their heritage. The day included lessons about different cultures, with pupils learning about countries all over the world. Pupils were also able to share with peers about their own cultures, teaching their classmates about different foods, ways of life and traditions. It was wonderful to see pupils engage so enthusiastically with each other on such an important topic.
The afternoon saw our fantastic Passport Day, where pupils ‘travelled’ around the school to different countries, collecting stamps on their passports, and taking part in a range of activities from different locations across the world. We saw some Irish dancing, African drumming, North American line dancing, Jamaican music, flag making, and more!
Our pupils had a great day, and it was wonderful to see them engaging so brilliantly with each other about cultural diversity – something we believe is so important at Hillingdon Manor and across the UK. Diversity is a strength, and our pupils loved every minute of the day!
