Home News & Events International Astronomy Day 2026

On Monday 18th May, pupils took part in a range of activities celebrating International Astronomy Day 2026! Pupils across the school learned more about the recent Artemis II mission to space last month – and were fascinated to discover how astronauts live in space with everything floating around!
Pupils also designed their own mission badges, learned about space and built their very own rockets! Pupils also took part in lessons about the solar system, and discovered more about Earth, the sun and the moon. Pupils were able to listen to interviews with famous astronaut Tim Peake, hearing about his mission to the moon and inspiring the next generation!
We had a great day!
