After School Club

Our club is a weekly extra-curricular event that aims to get our young learners out, about and active. Attendees take part in a human movement based group activity each week. These activities can include:

  • bowling
  • swimming
  • street dancing
  • Bollywood dancing
  • yoga
  • judo
  • ice skating

The aim of these experiences is to challenge attendees to try new activities and have fun whilst doing them, along with the added benefit of providing en enjoyable social experience.

After the active component, attendees are given the opportunity to rehearse money handling skills with a trip to the supermarket. Here, they select their dinner and practise the important task of exchanging money and counting change. Attendees are often challenged to try new foods, which can often be a big step for a person that has developed a rigid eating routine.

Upon returning to school, attendees cook dinner and eat together. Here, they rehearse cooking and hygienic cleaning skills as they both prepare the food that they have purchase and wash their dishes.

After school club has become a much-loved experience for many of our young learners and continues to grow in size.
