Hillingdon Manor School

Addressing the triad of impairment to
reduce the effect ASD has on pupil learning

"Hillingdon Manor School is an independent specialist school for children on the autistic spectrum aged between three and a half years and 19 years of age. Split into two sites, we offer a unique provision of education and support to pupils within a wide spectrum of needs and abilities.

Gail Pilling, PrincipalOur approach is based upon evidence-based research which is complemented in practice by encompassing a therapeutic communication-focused environment.  Each pupil is supported by a range of therapeutic and positive intervention strategies, and the school focuses strongly on team work and making choices within a no blame culture.

Our approach has proven to be very effective since our opening and facilitates the well-being of both our pupils and staff by ensuring development of a healthy mind, body and school community."

Hillingdon Manor School
As an ex-teacher it is rare in my experience to walk around a school and come away thinking 'What a lovely school, I'd love to teach there.' It was excellent to see transactional analysis being used so creatively to provide such a positive learning environment. I have supported a lot of clients and friends through their Ofsted Report and have never read one which is more positive, and truly deserved.
