In 1997, in response to a growing need for support for parents of children with autism, Sean and Anna Kennedy co-founded the registered charity, Hillingdon Autistic Care and Support (HACS).  HACS continues to support all those affected by an autistic spectrum disorder, across London boroughs and the Home Counties.

The Kennedys, whose two sons are both diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorders, formed the company Moorcroft Manor with fellow directors Alex Honeysett and David Clark.  In 2000, the founders of Moorcroft Manor created a new company, Autism Consultants Limited. Esther Rantzen is one of many eminent supporters.  

Hillingdon Manor School

Moorcroft Manor set itself a new goal, and by 1999 had opened Hillingdon Manor School, a specialist primary school for children with an autistic spectrum disorder.  By 2003, Hillingdon Manor School had expanded to open a middle and upper school, and now provides specialist education for 85 children with autistic spectrum disorders aged between three and nineteen.

The Old Vicarage Residence

Autism Consultants recognised that more high quality provision for adults with autism and Asperger’s syndrome was much needed and formed The Old Vicarage Residence (originally known as St Mary’s) .  The Old Vicarage is an eight bedroom home in which adults with an autistic spectrum disorder can live with support from specially trained staff.

The Directors of Moorcroft Manor Limited and Autism Consultants Limited continue to work towards improving the lives of people affected by autistic spectrum disorders.

By creating employment opportunities, organising play schemes and structured activity groups, offering informational events, training and conferences, and raising awareness of autism through education and community involvement, the Directors aim to improve the understanding of autism, and the opportunities and provision for those with an autistic spectrum disorder.
